On January 18, 2025, the RAMON Intelligent Steelmaking Technology Sharing Conference and 2024 Annual Appreciation Gala were held as scheduled. At 2:30 p.m., this annual event combining wisdom and honor officially kicked off in Changsha.

With the theme of “Data Empowering Steel, Information Driving Value, Co-creating Value and Moving Forward Toward Our Dreams,” the annual gala brought together distinguished guests, including Hao Zhizhong, Secretary-General of the China Metals Association, chairmen and senior executives from several steel companies, members of the Wuhan University Alumni Association, technical experts and scholars, teachers and students from poverty-stricken mountainous schools supported by RAMON for many years, as well as overseas partners.

On this brilliant and memorable night, we reviewed the remarkable achievements of 2024 together and witnessed countless moments of glory.

This event marked an important milestone in RAMON’s development history. It was the first time that RAMON creatively integrated a product launch conference with its annual gala.

This innovative approach not only achieved results beyond expectations but also received enthusiastic responses and high praise from customers.

01 Leadership Messages Inspiring Progress

Amid warm applause, Dr. Tian Lu, Chairman of RAMON, took the stage and delivered a speech.

He first extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all guests attending the annual gala.

Dr. Tian mentioned that despite the challenges faced in 2024, RAMON still achieved outstanding results. He encouraged everyone to embrace 2025 with confidence, hope and anticipation, and strive to create new achievements and greater success.

Subsequently, Mr. Hao Zhizhong, Secretary-General of the China Metals Association, delivered a speech.

Secretary-General Hao highly praised RAMON’s achievements in the steel industry and recognized the company’s outstanding technological accomplishments in intelligent steelmaking.

He also expressed his expectations for RAMON’s future development.

He said:

“I hope RAMON Technology will continue to leverage its professional advantages in intelligent steelmaking, continuously explore new technologies and processes, and provide more innovative solutions for the intelligent, green and high-quality development of the steel industry.

I hope you will take the Rizhao Steel project as a model, create more industry-leading projects, and contribute to China’s intelligent manufacturing.”

At the same time, a customer representative with many years of experience in the steel industry also took the stage to deliver New Year blessings to RAMON employees.

In his speech, the customer representative reviewed the journey of cooperation with RAMON over the years and shared the deep friendship established between the two sides. His words were sincere and meaningful.

02 Major Product Launches, Leading the Future with Technology

Technological innovation is embedded in RAMON’s DNA and is the foundation that enables the company to continuously stay at the forefront of the industry.

The year 2024 was also a remarkable year of innovation and achievements. RAMON made a series of technological breakthroughs in both the steelmaking and nuclear power fields.

These achievements include:

The Rizhao Steel full-process intelligent platform achieved remarkable success;

The world’s first intelligent steelmaking system realized one-button steelmaking operation;

The world’s widest 5600mm flaw detection system successfully passed A-level inspection;

China’s first ladle thickness measurement system was successfully developed;

China’s first intelligent four-axis robot technology was launched;

China’s first intelligent scheduling system achieved fully automated production planning throughout the entire process;

The ladle management system realized automatic information tracking;

China’s first nuclear power radioactive cold trap dismantling system was successfully developed and applied;

Neutron shielding materials successfully passed acceptance testing;

And many other technological breakthroughs.

At the RAMON Intelligent Steelmaking Technology Sharing Conference, Xu Mao from the Information Technology Department introduced the transformation of surface quality inspection technology from 2D detection to 3D detection.

He directly pointed out the challenges caused by manual inspection currently used in steel plants: low hot delivery efficiency and the inability to detect surface defects quickly and effectively.

He also highlighted the advantages of RAMON’s technology. The system can achieve defect positioning, dimensional measurement, defect marking through spraying, and slab quality classification, helping steel plants solve the major challenges caused by accumulated quality issues.

At present, RAMON’s surface quality inspection technology has achieved an 85% market share in China.

With continuous technological upgrades in the future, this technology is expected to create even more breakthroughs.

Luo Huilin from the Steelmaking Business Division introduced RAMON’s current “star product” — the RAMON Intelligent Converter Steelmaking System.

He explained that under the current industry-wide demand for “cost reduction and efficiency improvement,” the converter process, as the highest-cost link in steel production, has achieved a more scientific, accurate, and economical one-button operation mode through RAMON’s intelligent technology.

The technology entered the development stage in 2012 and has accumulated extensive practical experience.

Currently, more than 39 sets of this system have been successfully applied in over 20 steel plants both in China and overseas.

In 2024, with the guidance of technical experts and the efforts of all employees in the Steelmaking Department, RAMON became the first company in China to successfully develop a full-process intelligent steelmaking system capable of 24/7 operation.

Subsequently, Tian Yunhui from the Hengyang Intelligent Measurement and Control Department introduced RAMON’s Intelligent Refining Project.

Supported by fundamental automation technologies, the project enables more efficient, energy-saving, and precise production of LF furnaces, bringing tangible improvements in operational benefits for steel plants.

Finally, Wang Junjun from the Intelligent Electromechanical Department of RAMON Hengyang Company reported the technological breakthroughs achieved in electromagnetic ultrasonic testing in 2024.

The department also plans to increase RAMON’s market share in flaw detection plates to 90% in 2025 and achieve a flaw detection volume of 1.5 million tons.

These products and technologies represent not only the wisdom and dedication of RAMON employees, but also the advanced level of the industry.

Breaking boundaries and continuing innovation, RAMON will continue to bring new breakthroughs to the steel industry in 2025 and redefine the future of steel.

The annual award ceremony of RAMON has always been an important part of the company’s annual gala.

This year’s ceremony presented more than ten awards, including the Outstanding Major Project Team Award, Annual Innovation Award, Annual Contribution Award, Breakthrough Team Award, Effective Management Award, Annual Project Gold Award, Annual Project Silver Award, 15-Year Dedication Award, 20-Year Dedication Award, 30-Year Dedication Award, and Outstanding R&D Department Award.

Every team and individual receiving these awards made outstanding contributions to RAMON’s development in 2024 with a strong sense of responsibility and mission.

For example, the Rizhao Steel Major Project Team, which received the Outstanding Major Project Team Award, was one of RAMON’s most significant projects in 2024.

The project not only became a benchmark project for RAMON in the steel industry but also received high recognition and unanimous praise from the customer.

The 200,000 RMB award was not only recognition of the project team’s dedication and hard work around the clock, but also an encouragement for all RAMON employees.

It inspires us to continue creating more achievements like the Rizhao Steel project, embrace challenges, take responsibility, and continuously pursue excellence.

Employees receiving the 10-Year, 15-Year, 20-Year, and 30-Year Dedication Awards chose to grow together with RAMON in this rapidly changing era.

04 A Spectacular Audio-Visual Feast Full of Highlights

RAMON’s annual gala is filled with applause, laughter, and music.

Creative and talented RAMON employees presented a spectacular audio-visual feast featuring dance performances, singing, fashion shows, and other精彩 programs, showcasing the positive, energetic, and versatile spirit of RAMON people.

As a recipient of the China Radio and Television Award and the “Five-One Project Award,” as well as a Wuhan University alumna, Ms. Sisi was invited to return to the RAMON stage once again.

Her singing was heartfelt and touching. Whether it was “I Think, I Imagine” or RAMON’s 30th Anniversary theme song “Walking Together, Singing Together,” her performances brought tremendous positive energy to the audience and demonstrated her outstanding professionalism as a musician.

In addition, a group of lovely children also appeared at the annual gala.

They came from Hengyang Panshi Wan Primary School, a rural school in a poverty-stricken mountainous area that RAMON has supported for many years.

Dr. Tian Lu, Chairman of RAMON, has always been committed to public welfare and rural education. He not only visits the students in Hengyang every year but also invites them to Changsha to participate in RAMON’s annual gala.

This year, the children brought a dance performance titled “Light Up the Future,” which was full of innocence and joy, showcasing their talents and positive spirit.

Over more than 30 years of development, RAMON has experienced countless challenges and achievements.

Many RAMON employees have built their families here, giving rise to the “second generation of RAMON.”

Growing up together with the company, these young members of the RAMON family are now full of youthful energy. With enthusiastic participation, they brought two wonderful song and dance performances to the annual gala, adding a relaxed and joyful atmosphere to the event.

The annual gala featured many other wonderful performances, including the Changsha team’s dance “Sending the Moon,” the Beijing team’s chorus “Nameless People,” and the Hengyang team’s exciting medley of songs and dances.
