RAMON Automatic Tapping Control System

The ATCS is an integrated control system based on the R&D of RAMON BOF slag detection system etc. and combining with RAMON decades of R&D and practical experiences in metallurgical field. It is with multi technologies such as laser distance measurement, image processing, wireless transmission, and self-learning etc. to achieve the automation of BOF tapping process. By the application of ATCS, the site personnel demand is reduced, working condition is improved, and molten steel purity is improved.

Benefit Analysis 

Automation level is improved. Utilized with automatic steelmaking technology as well as database technology to realize the digital monitoring and visualized analysis of BOF tapping process. The excellent experiences has been immobilized in the standard operation model and the operation model is improved progressively by the digital technology, which reduces the impact due to quit of person with ability, and improves the BOF operation and control level continuously. 

Labor cost is reduced. As the tapping process is accomplished automatically in needless of manual operation, the corresponding operator necessity is reduced and production safety is improved.

Tapping efficiency is enhanced. The tapping technological process is optimized and tap-to–tap cycle is decreased through standard operation and combined with self-learning model.

Product quality is improved. The converter tilting control is optimized, slag carryover amount is reduced, and molten steel purity is improved through converter sprue detection and stream detection.
