On the evening of March 28th at 8 o'clock, an exciting news came from the production line of CCM 4 at Shaogang: the full process of slab and intelligent one click steel-casting system jointly developed by SISG, SISG Engineering and RAMON have been successfully hot tested. This is the first set of one click steel-casting system in China that can achieve the full process and intelligent operation of slab continuous casting. This milestone breakthrough is a revolutionary subversion of traditional casting methods.

The traditional production method of slab continuous casting machine is generally completed by manual operation of equipment in each process by personnel in post such as ladle and tundish. Not only do operators need to withstand high temperature and high heat environments, but also a large number of personnel is required with long training time, which is not conducive to the long-term stability of production and casting quality. After implementing the intelligent one click steel-casting system for the entire process of slab continuous casting machine, it can achieve automatic production from decoupling of the ladle to automatic casting of the tundish. The system will automatically diagnose operating conditions and complete a series of complex operations in sequence. At the same time, the system also introduces advanced technologies such as automatic online width adjustment and electromagnetic mould level measurement, ensuring precise control of every detail in the production process.

 

 

The project has undergone precise planning. During the renovation period, functions such as automatic width adjustment of the mould, automatic sorting of covering agents by robots, automatic feeding of covering agents by robots, and automatic temperature measurement and sampling by robots have been put into use successively. In March, taking advantage of the annual maintenance opportunity of the continuous casting machine, the project renovation was carried out intermittently, and the project team worked tirelessly day and night within a limited time. Finally, when the casting machine resumed production, the high difficulty functions such as the robotic disassembly and assembly of the oil cylinder, the robotic disassembly and assembly of the ladle shroud, and the automatic centering of the tundish trolly with mould were successfully put into use one after another. The successful implementation of the intelligent one click steel-casting system for the entire process of slab continuous casting machine has completely changed the traditional mode of steel production, achieving unmanned, standardized, and low-cost production on site, and promoting the intelligent, green, and sustainable development of steelmaking production.
